  • 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (includes frequent evening meetings and occasional weekends)
Our dynamic Community Investment Team encourages active involvement of residents in the issues that affect their local communities and is seeking an experienced community development officer to work within urban and rural communities.

The role is to build and maintain strong working relationships with community groups, local residents, and voluntary and statutory agencies to identify and help meet the needs of local communities.

You will have experience of setting up or supporting community groups, helping strengthen their governance, build their capacity to maximise the use of community facilities and make a significant long term impact. You will demonstrate appropriate and effective communication skills and show a flexible approach to facilitating communities. This includes problem-solving, planning and developing lasting initiatives that meet local needs, and advising on attracting volunteers and funding applications.

37 hours – with flexibility needed for frequent evening and occasional weekend work for which time off in lieu is available
