We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Housing Team, you will be involved in a wide range of activities aimed at providing an excellent service to our residents.
Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true, but as an apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds.
At Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council we're big on innovation. To achieve this we want people with big ideas about how we could do things differently for the better and who aren't afraid to voice them.

You will help the team to deliver high quality administrative and technical services to both internal and external customers in a positive, proactive, courteous and impartial way. Your role will include helping the team to carry out the day to day administration of the housing register including renewing and updating applications in accordance with the allocations policy, responding to telephone enquiries and correspondence relating to the register and wider housing options, as well as helping to develop and support various social inclusion partnership projects, such as the annual rough sleeper count, peer mentoring projects and liaising with both internal and external partners to coordinate meetings and training sessions. In turn, this role will build on your awareness of why people become homeless and the work being done in this area.

You will continuously develop your organisational, administrative and communication skills whilst studying towards a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

The council signs up to the Disability Confident scheme (formerly known as the ‘Two Ticks’ scheme). If you have declared a disability on the application form we can guarantee you an interview if you meet the essential criteria for the job.
