We are currently seeking a CIPS qualified procurement professional to lead our talented Procurement and Contracts team – is this you?
The council has big ambitions for our residents and for our staff and your role as Procurement and Contracts Manager will play a major part in this through ensuring smart procurement whilst enhancing supplier performance through robust contract management.

Your role will be critical in managing the team to deliver day-to-day procurement and contract management activities across the council, including procurement related to ongoing and future strategic projects.

You will support and inspire your team and colleagues to deliver value for money contracts and outcomes that best meet our customers’ needs, promoting a pragmatic, risk based approach.

Previous public sector experience is not necessary, as your significant expertise in procurement and contracts is more important. Ideally you will have previously lead a successful team across a multi-disciplined environment who have provided excellent service to their internal customers. Your ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the council and with our partners and suppliers is a key requirement of this role.

The council is passionate about investing in our staff and offer training and diverse career opportunities. We offer flexible working, a generous leave entitlement, pension scheme and a health care cash plan scheme - just some of the many reasons why you should come and work for us.

The council signs up to the Disability Confident scheme (formerly known as the ‘Two Ticks’ scheme). If you have declared a disability on the application form we can guarantee you an interview if you meet the essential criteria for the job.
