We are looking for a talented person to join our landscape team to assist in the delivery of an exciting programme of landscape, play and open space improvements that will have a positive impact on people’s quality of life here in Basingstoke and Deane.

The Natural Environment Team is responsible for the development and delivery of exciting projects from large strategic sites in sensitive locations to compact urban realm sites, with budgets of up to £250,000. These include park improvement schemes, public realm enhancements, skate parks and park areas. The team also contributes to planning policy development and providing expert advice on planning applications.

Ideally, we are looking for someone qualified to an A Level (or equivalent) standard, with a strong desire to develop their career within the natural environment. You will have a keen interest in the natural environment and an understanding of landscape design and horticulture. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work on a number of different projects at the same time. While experience in the development of public open spaces , play areas and community consultations would be useful, what really matters is that you are genuinely enthusiastic about shaping exceptional landscapes and spaces that people will love using.


You will be assisting with all aspects of projects from concept to completion; you’ll get involved with:-

  • Concept scheme design

  • Drafting detailed hard and soft landscape proposals

  • Assisting with community consultations

  • The management of databases

  • Implementation of work on sites
