Are you fed up of marketing and fee earning targets?
We are looking for new colleagues to join us working in the public sector. We are a well-resourced forward looking service, working within a happy and supportive team environment.
With 24 Lawyers and Paralegals supported by 2 legal administrators we provide a joint legal service to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hart District Council.

This wide-ranging role will see you provide high quality legal services and expert advice to both councils in non-routine and complex cases across the whole spectrum of property law, focusing on commercial landlord and tenant and conveyancing matters.

Good communication skills and a collaborative approach are important, with the ability to build credible and effective relationships with elected members, clients and colleagues.

Previous local government experience is desirable but we would also like to hear from you if you are considering your first step into the public sector.

We help our staff to develop their careers by providing interesting and stimulating work with corporate projects to deliver a new leisure park, Garden Town for 3,520 new homes and a regeneration of the council owned business district. Basingstoke has a large commercial property portfolio valued at £285M generating high quality property and litigation work.

For an informal discussion please contact Mrs Ann Greaves on 01256 845475, email ann.greaves@basingstoke.gov.uk or Mrs Maria Bundy on 01256 845357, email maria.bundy@basingstoke.gov.uk.

The council signs up to the Disability Confident scheme (formerly known as the ‘Two Ticks’ scheme). If you have declared a disability on the application form we can guarantee you an interview if you meet the essential criteria for the job.
