We are looking for an assistant to join the Council’s procurement and legal teams on a temporary basis, providing administration support helping the teams to deliver quality services to our residents and customers.

We are looking for an assistant to join the Council’s procurement and legal teams on a temporary basis.

In this role you will be providing advice and support to officers across the Law and Governance business unit but a majority of the role will be providing administrative support to the procurement team; helping them procure the goods and services we need, to deliver quality services to our residents and customers. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the administrative function of the Legal Services Team which provides high-quality legal advice to both Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hart District Council.

This is an important role helping to support council officers reduce costs, maintain and improve service quality and support the Council’s journey in offering first class services that ‘Go Beyond’.

You will need to be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, as the procurement and legal teams work across many council services. You will also need strong organisation and administrative skills, with an ability to be flexible and prioritise workloads in order to provide support to both the procurement and legal teams.

Working with the Procurement and Legal officers, you will demonstrate an ability and eagerness to learn quickly, adopting a positive, can-do attitude to your work.
