Recognising the important role Property and Assets has within the council, we are looking for a Property Administrative Assistant within the Operational Portfolio to join a new permanent team of property professionals.
The council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio principally comprising industrial, office and retail assets, and with some other miscellaneous assets, valued at c. £300m producing an annual rental income more than £17m. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the council and the income received significantly exceeds that generated through the collection of Council Tax. Recognising the important role Property and Assets has within the council we are looking to recruit a Property Administrative Assistant within the Operational Portfolio to join a new permanent team of property professionals.

A part-time post of circa 22 hours per week, the Property Administrative Assistant, you will develop the skills maintain the Property Management System and other Property related record systems. We are looking for a person to join the Operations Team with the following key skills:

  • Showing an ability to learn new skills and share knowledge to all levels across the Property Team.

  • Able to challenge and share ideas across the team and service(s) to support continuous improvement and process management.

The ideal candidate will have an ability to work well within a team environment as well as on their own when needed. A typical day could include:

  • Co-ordinate freedom of information requests.

  • Raise purchase orders on the council’s financial system.

  • Deal with property related enquiries to council ownership of land and buildings via the council’s electronic systems.

  • input and update data in various systems used by Property Services.

Being able to continue to develop and forge good working relationships with consultants, internal and external stakeholders’ as well as colleagues within Property and Borough Developments is essential.
