Russell O'Keefe
Chief Executive
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

Serving a population of more than 185,200 and covering an area of 245 square miles including rural areas and the largest town in Hampshire, we are an ambitious council. We are committed to putting residents at the heart of everything we do and providing high quality services that make a difference to local people. This includes recycling and waste collections, keeping streets clean and maintaining parks and play areas, housing and homelessness services and much more.

As well as delivering services and supporting our partners, we are leading on a number of exciting large-scale projects to shape the borough for future generations. We are reimagining our town centre’s vibrant future, breathing new life into our flagship business park, bringing new attractions to our leisure park and delivering new affordable homes at Manydown in partnership with Hampshire County Council and master developer Urban&Civic.

And we are driving forward with action to meet our goal to be a carbon-neutral council as we work together with local communities and our partners towards the borough's target to reach net zero by 2045.
