Your wellbeing

The wellbeing of our staff is important to us. We support them to look after their own physical and mental wellbeing, both in and out of work. We want our staff to have a healthy wellbeing, staff who have a healthy work-life balance will be motivated and provide great services for our residents.

Wellbeing group

Our wellbeing group brings staff together together to promote a healthy workplace. The group coordinates wellbeing activities, events and awareness sessions on topics such as mental and physical health, menopause and financial wellbeing. The team helps organise sports events such as rounders tournaments held locally and subsidised annual health check ups.

Mental health champions

We have a group of trained mental health champions who provide an alternative and confidential listening ear for our staff. They can also direct staff to professional support services if they need it.

Employee assistance and counselling service

We understand that our staff may want to speak to someone outside of the organisation so we provide access to a free 24/7 telephone employee assistance programme. This service offers confidential and independent support on matters such as family issues, debt, work, lifestyle addictions, relationships and legal advice. We also cover the cost of up to six counselling/cognitive behaviour therapy sessions for every employee.

Funded health cash plan

Our healthcare cash plan scheme helps staff with costs such as prescriptions, dental and optical care and other therapies including chiropractic treatment. This could save you up to £1,170 per year. This can be upgraded to provide greater cover to include additional family members.

Free eye tests and flu vaccinations

We offer all employees the following:

  • a free annual flu vaccination
  • up to £25 towards the cost an eye test
  • up to £60 towards the cost of frames every two years, if required for VDU use.
