Are you passionate about inspiring, encouraging and supporting communities?
Our dynamic Connected Communities Team encourages active involvement of residents in the issues that affect their local communities and is seeking an experienced community development officer to work within urban and rural communities.

Are you ready and able to help communities shape and support their own future?

The role is to build and maintain strong working relationships with community groups, local residents, and voluntary and statutory agencies to identify the strengths and assets within place-based communities and help draw on these to meet their identified needs.

You will have experience of setting up or supporting community groups, helping strengthen their governance, build their capacity to maximise the use of community facilities and make a significant long term impact. You will demonstrate appropriate and effective communication skills and show a flexible approach to facilitating communities. This includes problem-solving, planning and developing lasting initiatives that meet local needs, and advising on attracting volunteers and funding applications.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offer a wide range of benefits, including a generous leave entitlement, access to discounts at nationwide retailers through our ‘B Rewarded’ discount site, flexible working, healthcare cash plan, pension scheme and much more.
