Departments and roles

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is the local authority responsible for delivering a wide range of public services to approximately 185,200 residents across the borough, which includes the town of Basingstoke and surrounding rural areas.

The Civic Offices, located in the town centre, houses various departments and services that support the community's daily needs and long-term development.​

Our main depot is located at Wade Road, but we also have a number of smaller parks and streetscene sites across the borough including Eastrop, Worting Road Cemetery​, War Memorial Park, Springwell (Hart)​, Whiteditch (Oakridge), Brighton Hill ​and Down Grange.

The council manages numerous services that impact residents' everyday lives. These services are aligned with the council's strategic priorities outlined in the Council Plan 2023–2027 (PDF) [4Mb]. Our council plan is focused on achieving three overall priorities that link closely together:
